Out of the box, the Bitbox Arcade Mini comes with
- a carrying sleeve,
- a 2-meter-long type-c to type-a braided cable, and
- rubber feet.
The carrying sleeve is a nice touch, as it allows you to keep your game controller safe and secure while traveling. The rubber feet ensure that the Bitbox Arcade Mini stays in place during intense gaming sessions.
Now let’s talk about the build. This hitbox is remarkably lightweight and compact, making it perfect for gamers on the go. It measures 220mm x 130mm and has a thickness of 11mm, weighing in at around 237 grams. This small size allows for easy transportation, and storage.
The buttons are well-placed, and the overall feel is solid. Under the hood, these are Kailh silver low-profile linear switches. The Bitbox Arcade Mini is hotswappable, meaning you can take out and replace the switches with no soldering required, making it easy to maintain and repair.
I’m not an expert fighting game player, but after spending a few hours playing various fighting games with this hitbox, I can confidently say that it offers a competitive edge over using a regular game controller. The small form factor and layout allows for faster inputs and quicker reaction times. I felt like my execution was more precise, and it made a noticeable difference in my gameplay.
